Printer-friendly version Strengthening the work of the Gospel among the Haitians of Boston and beyond.
The ministry of Rev. Dr. Soliny Védrine, director, is to encourage and strengthen Haitian pastors in Boston and to facilitate Haitian churches working together to spread the gospel and serve Haitians in Greater Boston and the Caribbean.
In August 2009, Pastor Sol led the fifth annual La Romana mission trip that drew some 45 participant-leaders from Boston’s and other Haitian communities. All week the Gospel was powerfully preached by ministers from the U.S. and Haiti to a large audience which grew to 5,000. Missionaries also conducted a university students fellowship day, a family conference, and both preaching and humanitarian trips to local churches. “Throughout the Dominican Republic,” Sol says, “whether it be in the sugar cane plantations, the market place, or the universities, the presence of Haitian immigrants is growing, and that offers great opportunities for ministry.”
Pastor Sol is encouraged by the growing sense of responsibility among local pastors in Boston. He cofounded and for many years led the Fellowship of Haitian Evangelical Pastors of New England. Now he provides support and encouragement to the current leaders.
